This is exactly what people said about digital cameras. There's no reason why you can't have purposed built cine lenses with auto focus. That's does not mean you can't override it and be creative. Being creative isn't about the tools

cool vid. Youre whole point abt the look of the camera can be achieved by throwing a monitor and a matte box on any other cam. the same hypothetical "ad" person who is gonna be wowed by the look of your tricked out rig will be just as impressed with anything with a matte box & a cage.

The mirror idea is nice, I would use plywood or heavy card stock with aluminum foil over it instead. You could attach the mount to it using screws. It would be much more durable and lighter, getting you close to the same thing. I have used this trick when shooting food,

Sometimes you just gotta choose 60FPS in a bright situation if you don't have a neutral density filter. For indoor lighting 30FPS is pretty doable and help lowering that ISO noise.
